OIL OF LEMON EUCALYPTUS

Oil of lemon eucalyptus is produced from the distilled oil of the Eucalyptus citriodora tree. We are proud to partner with the Citriodiol® brand who's oil is sourced through a steam distillation process that minimizes waste and utilizes a closed-loop recycled water cycle. Powerful protection paired with sustainable sourcing makes oil of lemon eucalyptus a can't-get-any-better-than-this botanical ingredient.

FAQs

Does this product expire?

We suggest using the product within 3 years of the marked date code.

How to find the date code: In order to find out when your spray was bottled there should be little black numbers sprayed on the bottom of the bottles, known as a Date Code. The first 3 digits are the day of the year it was bottled while the last 2 digits will be the year that lit was bottled.

So, if it reads (for example) 07525, it was bottled on the 75th day of 2025 - or March 16th 2025.

Is this product available in NY?

At this time, we’re unable to ship this product directly to customers in New York. However, you can still find our spray at many great retailers across New York — use our store locator to find one near you.

Why don't we disclose the "other 70%" ingredients on our label?

The other 70% of ingredients are water and corn ethanol.

The original master label submitted for registration with the EPA does not list the inert ingredients, and because labeling is stringent, we cannot make a change until a label listing the inert ingredients is formally approved. However, we are able to state those ingredients on our website, which we do on the product page and with this FAQ.

Are there any age restrictions for this product?

In their most recent evaluation, the EPA found nothing that warranted an age restriction and so has removed any age restriction from 30% OLE (Citriodiol®) products, such as Murphy’s Naturals Lemon Eucalyptus Oil Mosquito & Tick Repellent Spray. This product is not registered by California for use on children under three.

Is this spray TSA-approved?

Our 2oz spray meets the TSA requirements for carry-on baggage, but we always suggest checking with the specific airline you are flying with as rules and regulations change often.

Is this spray safe on gear/fabrics?

Our spray is safe for outdoor gear and most fabrics. However, we strongly recommend testing a small amount of product on an inconspicuous part of the fabric first just to be sure.

What insects does this spray repel?

Spray on your skin or gear to repel mosquitoes for up to six hours, deer ticks for up to four hours, and lone star and brown dog ticks for more than eight hours.

We do not currently have data on the efficacy of this product on any other insects at this time and are unable to make any additional claims.

GOOD FOR THE PLANET

BUY IT!!!!!!!!!NO JOKE. MUST BUY!!!!

I highly recommend anyone to buy this product. I just have to say WOW. My parents and I were in Mammoth recently and it is High mosquito season right now. We went to Crystal Lake and Duck Lake we sprayed it all over us. And Not one mosquito bite. We saw them hovering around us but did not come near us. We took our pups to crystal lake and we saw the mosquitoes land on our pups. We made sure the ingredients are safe for our pups and they are, thankfully, we immediately sprayed around them and immediately the mosquitoes left them alone. Not one came near them. I urge anyone to buy it. Thank you Murphy’s for natural option for mosquito repellent. I will be buying forever.

love it!

Amazing! I discovered this product in a sub-tropical environment with really nasty, tiny, mosquitos, and the most obnoxious no-see-ums. Murphy’s worked for me in stopping the bug attacks cold, and actually soothed my existing irritated bites.

Yes, I recommend this product.

It really works !

I love Murphy's Naturals Lemon mosquito repellent spray. I have shared with many friends who ask where they can buy it, saying their repellent does not work. Just as a test, I will watch mosquitos come close to me, hover a bit and fly off. and, I must mention the salve! I love it too. great for the bed side table when you hear that little buzzing in the dark. I rub the salve on my ears, my hairline, on the sides of my neck, and behind my upper arms. and murphy's smells so good too. Mosquitos have been really bad this year. I am very happy to have my supply of spray, salve and incense stick!! thanks Murphy's!

Excellent defense from biting bugs

I ordered a box of your tea candles and 2 spray bottles some months ago, and haven't been bitten once where I apply the spray. I live in the rural NC Piedmont where ticks, biting flies and mosquitos appear in abundance--especially after it rains. (You know how it is, you're based here.) It's been quite a wet season so far, so I'm a very happy camper. I love being able to support a homegrown company whose product really works as advertised! I'm back to order a couple packs of wipes--heading for the mountains soon, my favorite place to be while y'all swelter in our summer humidity! (I'm going to try your bite relief balm too--handwashing takes the spray off and those skeeters dive right in.)

Keeps the ticks away!

We live in an area of TN with lots and lots of ticks—our backyard is full of Lone Star ticks in particular. Every time we'd go outside (our two little girls included), we'd end up with them crawling up us even when taking all precautions (and having our yard treated with Lemongrass Oil). Since using this spray, no more ticks! Except in the off instance someone forgets—my husband forgot to spray himself before going outside yesterday and found two ticks on himself this morning. More proof of how amazing this repellent is!

Good Product

Mosquitoes love me, in a crowd of thousands they will all be biting me and ignore all others present, my friends remark on it often. No product gives me complete protection from mosquito bites, no matter how thickly I use it, an 80% reduction is the best I can hope for and this spray does provide that. And it is pleasant and chemical free, very important because on the days I am outside for several hours in this extreme heat I sweat everything off and I have to reapply at least hourly. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because spray does not come in 8 or 16 ounce size and sprayer did not work on one bottle. I bought 2, one for car and house, and sprayer on one of them completely inoperable, have to unscrew and pour into hand and spread that way, wasteful.

Faulty Nozzle

I purchased Murphy's Mosquito & Tick Repellent (eucalyptus & lemon) in a spray bottle. I used it once to spray myself and spray nozzle worked. After that the nozzle stopped working. It won't depress. So I have to unscrew it and manually apply it by dipping and applying several times. Do you have a fix for this? Or is the nozzle simply not up to the job? (i.e.. a piece of junk) I like the product but I won't purchase it again unless there's a solution.

2nd time using... spray pump broke on first use

A good friend recommended this product. I'd never heard of this company. She knows I want to use more natural things, so I decided to try. The pump broke on the 1st use. I took off the spray part and just pour it on my hands or paper towels and rub it on. The scent is a little weird but I could get used to it. Today is second time using. I'm still feeling things biting me. I'll give it a few more times to see if it will finally help.
