The lemony smell of this repellent balm masks our human aromas that make us attractive targets to mosquitoes. By hiding your scent, mosquitoes turn nose-blind making them unable to locate their targets (ahem, you). Wearing our balm is practically the closest thing to having an invisibility superpower.

We test our repellent balm at New Mexico State University's Molecular Vector Physiology Lab. But what does “tested" really mean? It means that we don’t hesitate to get in the weeds—or in this case, put our arm in a mosquito cage—until we get the results you deserve.

Our balm is tested on its ability to prevent mosquito bites on a human volunteer. In the most recent study, Murphy’s Mosquito Repellent Balm repelled almost two hours longer than the untreated skin.

Is this balm made for application on gear/fabric?

This product has not been tested on fabric and should only be applied to skin.

How do I keep this balm from melting?

Be sure to store this product in a dark and cool environment. Do not leave in a warm vehicle. 
Can I apply this balm to my face?

You can apply Murphy’s Naturals Mosquito Repellent Balm to your face, just be sure NOT to get it in your eyes, ears, nose or mouth.

Is this formula safe for all ages?

Do not let children apply this product to themselves and avoid applying to their hands to ensure they do not accidentally ingest the product.
What insects does this balm repel?

Balm Stick

We absolutely love these balm sticks!!!! They are very easy to apply and last longer than the bug sprays you buy in stores. We use them on our dogs ear tips and nose bridge to deter biting flies and they work great!!!! Next we will try it with our horses to help with the biting deer flies when we trail ride. It is all natural and works very well.

This stuff is worthless

Used this product last night in Seattle. Was bitten alive; sending my dead exsanguinated body to Murphy's as proof. Back label says to PEEL HERE for directions. When you do, there's nothing on the other side ! Product incompentently made as well as being useless.

It works!

The best mosquito repellent because it works. Bugs are attracted to me and I don't use any perfumes or use lotions with a fragrance. When I'm bitten my body reacts by getting itchy, red and swollen. To prevent any uncomfortable reaction the Repellent Balm Stick keeps me protected all the time - at the beach, in the moutains, and even while playing pickle ball.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Balm stick smells good, easy to use

Unfortunately it didn’t work for me. I love that it has natural ingredients and the balm stick glides on the skin easily with a very pleasant lemony scent. I covered all areas of exposed skin thoroughly with the balm and was outside close to an hour and got about 8 mosquito bites on mostly my lower legs but also on one of my arms.

I purchased this for my husband who hates bug spray of any kind. I was pleasantly surprised when he tried it for the first time. He even put it on the visor of his baseball cap and says that it keeps the flies from around his face. Thanks, Murphy's, for helping me solve a buggy husband problem!

This balm is easy to apply, easy to carry with you on hikes, pleasant smell, works well in casual settings and hikes. It is not as effective in heavy mosquito infested areas like gardens and swampy areas. You would do better with the mosquito repellent mist.

I love this repellent because it's easy to apply to my three-year-old, travels well, and I can feel good about putting it on her skin. It's not perfect, she still gets bit sometimes, but this summer is going MUCH better than last summer. Thanks, Murphy's!
